Nothing better than quality time

with the family! This weekend is just staying home with the family...no where to go, nothing to do but sit at home and watch movies, bake cake/cookies all weekend long. It'll be a long weekend..hehehe I can tell you that! My husband and I usually like to take the kids out every other weekend to either bowling, nature walking or visiting other cities/places. It's fun for the kids and it's quality time spent with the kids. I just hope my kids, when they grow up appreciate all the things we try to do for them and with them. Hopefully they can pass this on to their children as well.

My husband and I are really not party people and hardly go out, maybe once in a blue moon. We hardly drink too. But of course when I do party, I like to get down, you know! hahaha! Hey, it's only once in a very blue moon okay? Lols!

Here is some pics of our family at various places we've been to or have done.

Bottom picture is when we went to visit the waterfall near Green Bay, WI. Waterfall was actually running dry because it was in June already. I love waterfalls so I try to visit at least 1 waterfall a year. Picture is of my husband and my baby underneath the waterfall. I think it would be a lot prettier if the waterfall was running full. I'd love to visit here again. It's just about 15 minutes from Green Bay.

Picture below: Me underneath a pathetic small running waterfall...haha. We traveled all the way to Ohio to Old Man's Cave to visit the various waterfalls they have there but we were a little too late and all the waterfalls had either ran dry or that it had very little running water left. I'm just glad I was able to view a little bit of it...lols. This is a beautiful place to visit/hike. I'd love to visit this place again someday. If you want to see waterfalls, best time to go is at end of March or April. You'd be lucky to catch a glimpse of it when in May/June.

Below: We love taking family walks at the park. We've been to almost every park in the area and cities near us. It's fun for the kids and it's good exercise for the kids as well.  This was at Menominee Park in Oshkosh.

Below: Sometimes we like to just drive around, my kids call it "getting lost" and just see what's out there. Sometimes we see places that we drive by everyday but never thought about just stopping to explore.
We happen to just drive by this beautiful spot down by the Fox River near a restaurant and so we had to stop and explore/take pictures. Behind my son Brandon, is the dam with running water. It's very pretty. Will have to do a photo shoot there once it gets a tab warmer!
Here's another picture down by the Fox river, same location:

Below:
We love visiting beaches every summer and try to do that at least once. Of course there's no beaches here in Appleton so we always travel to Manitowac or Sheboygan to visit their beaches instead. It's about 1 hour drive from here.

We also love to visit botanical gardens/horticultural places as well. Below is a picture of my daughters at the Green Bay Botanical Garden.

Well this is enough pictures and blog for now, not going to bore you all to death..lols.

Well, I hope you and your loved ones enjoy spending time with each other as much as our family does and if you don't, remember that life is too short because in a blink of an eye, you or that loved one could be gone forever. Make time.

I COULDN'T...

SLEEP! Stayed up until 2:30 am sewing my green outfit (which I did a small preview of it on my last post). My husband's been super kind and helping me cut and paste the fabric together for me. He's a wonderful hubby I have to say. Not a lot of husbands will want to do that.

Woke up this morning to the alarm ringing but drifting off and on back to sleep. Husband finally got up to turn the alarm off and what do you know...instead of waking up at 6:00 am, woke up at 7:15 am. My older daughters Selina and Chyna are going to be late for school. I thought whether to call in for school for them or not but I decided that this had happened before (just 2 weeks ago!) that they woke up late. That time, woke up at 7:45 am...very, very late! We had called in for them to not go to school, so they got a freebie. I had told my daughters that if this happens again, there is no excuse. Why should I always set my alarm for them when they go to sleep at 8 pm and they have their own alarms? They are in middle and high school...there's no excuse, no excuse...none at all! My older daughter which is in high school will probably get detention...sucks for her, she'll learn her lesson then.

So after listening to my older kids scrambling around this morning and leaving, which their father took them to school, I just couldn't go back to sleep. I guess all partially because I was contemplating about what to do with the situation and then thinking about my outfit as to what needs to be done on it etc. Tossed and turned and after 15 minutes of trying to fall back to sleep, I decided to just get up and blog and of course check my facebook too! haha!

As I have been mentioning before on my blogs (if you were following me), I've been depressed lately because of this weather. I guess I'm having what you call a winter weather blues. To make the time go by faster, I'm been thinking or looking forward to all the spectacular things that I will be doing from now on out. Just have to get passed January...

I'm leaving you with pictures of my 2nd older daughter Chyna in her red india outfit that I had sewn by hand. I sewed this outfit a few years ago and it's still not quite finished....hehehe. Maybe I'll have to revisit this outfit in the near future to complete it. It just needs small alterations here and there and it's done. Let me tell you, this assemble does not fit my daughter anymore. I guess it will have to passed down to my 3rd daughter Paris..haha!!

All the laces, trimmings and beadings on the dress is all done by me hand sewn/stitched onto the dress. It took me a long time to get this dress like how it is...as I shouldn't say it's "done" because it really isn't.

Time after time...

If you look and you should find it, time after time. I've not been feeling the best lately so I haven't blogged as much as I should or wanted to. This weather or should I say this time of the season is making me depressed and irritated. I've been trying to keep my self busy by sewing. I've finished the wedding dress and also another outfit, now it's onto a new one. Besides sewing, I'm also getting to know my camera with the lightings, buttons, etc. I just can't wait until the weather is soo much more warmer outside so that I can really start doing some photo shoots outside.

Picture below is of the wedding dress that's finished.
Above picture: The sequin "clubbing" dress I made that I just finished.

The picture below: The skirt/outfit I'm in the processing of making. Will update you once it's finished.

This weather is making me feel a bit down...I need a vacation really really soon. Hubby and I are thinking about going to North Carolina at the end of March. Maybe that's just what I really need. It's not comming up fast enough!! Until my next blog...take care everyone!

Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.

My Favorites (Part 2)

I promised a part 2, so here it is! It was really hard narrowing these photos down. I love photography and I love taking pictures every chance that I can. I'm still practicing and so as they say, practice makes perfect. Again, these photos are my favorites from past photo shoots. I can't wait until it's warmer to start shooting more.

Above pictures are from a photo shoot of my sister Choua. She bought the dress from a thrift store and I just happened to purchase the wig for Halloween...so both together completed this outfit for this photo shoot. I love these photos because of the beautiful background and my sister did an amazing job posing for me. I've been meaning to do something like this again. Can't wait!

Above pictures are of my sister Annie. Isn't she gorgeous? I love shooting her!

Above pictures are of Kari. The quality isn't that good but I really liked these photos because of all the glitters and lights in the background as well as the props used. I shall have to do something like this again now that I have my good camera!

Above pictures are of Kari and Suzie. I really liked these photos because of the bright colors we used and the natural sunlight shining into the bedroom.

Above photos are of Cindy. It as quite a challenge to work with pre teens at the time but it was an awsome experience and glad that I did it! When taking pre teens, you can't have sexy poses/sexy outfits so it was quite the challenge....hehehe but we managed to pull it off!

Above photos are of Princeton, my baby. It was almost St. Patrick so I decided to dress my hunny up and do a St. Patrick theme! It was soo hard to get him to cooperate but at least a got a few good ones!

Above photos are of my daughters Chyna, Paris and Selyna. This was when it was Valentines and I wanted something sweet and innocent so I thought about my kids. Yes, they were much younger then and was still willing to cooperate. Now, don't even think about asking them to pose!!

Ivan and his wife. They were a delightful couple to work with. They were so in love that their expressions of love illuminates all over the portrait.

I'm going to leave you this last segment with pictures of Rhonda and her family below. This family is da bomb!! I love working with them and would do it again in a heartbeat!

I still have soo many more favorites but that's for another blog!! I should've done a 3 part segment but didn't want to bore everyone with just photos now right? lols. I hope you enjoyed these photos. I thank each and everyone of you for stopping by, until then take care and come back real soon!
